I’m Your Creative Secret Weapon

There is enormous opportunity with content marketing to increase brand awareness and generate leads—if you have the time and resources to stay on top of it. If you don’t, you should hire me.

I help marketing pros build the content engine of their dreams. Since I’ve been a content marketing manager myself for years, I know you need content that’s not just deep, well-researched, and remarkable; you need it to map to your strategy and achieve business goals, too. That’s what I do, friend.

Together, we’ll nail SEO, out-communicate the competition, and drive traffic and leads for your organization. (Sorry I got all business-speak on you there but like, that’s what we’ll do.)

OK but Who Are You?

Oh, haha hey. I’m Cassie, and I’m a writer and HubSpot-certified content marketing strategist.

How am I different from other content creators? A few things:

  • I have a marketing background. While I’ve been writing professionally for five years, I’ve been in online marketing for seven. Which means: I’m not just an artsy-fartsy writer; I write with goals. Business goals.
  • I’m a strategist, too. I don’t simply create content—I also map content to strategy. I “get” lead gen, SEO, demand gen, branding, PR, etc.
  • I’ve worked in business settings. I know Slack, Skype, Hangouts, Zoom, Basecamp, Asana, Trello, WordPress, MailChimp, Google Analytics, Moz—even the agile methodology. I’ll fit right into your team’s workflow.
  • I’ve nailed authenticity. My communication style is unique and impactful, and I write in an on-brand yet utterly authentic voice. I “grab” readers and keep them engaged.

As a former content marketing manager, I know how frustrating it is to have alltheideas for content, and not enough time or team to get it all done.

That’s why I’m here. I’ll get it all done.

Are You Cool to Work With or Nah?

Very cool. Like extremely, ultra-cool.

Oh but here’s what others have said, just in case:

Cassie is a pleasure to work with, and a fantastic writer. She brings a unique combination of curiosity, diligence, professionalism and sass to her work. She is prolific and holds herself to high standards. Cassie played a critical role in helping us establish our audience, brand strategy, voice, messaging and content, including through a complex company relaunch. Our audiences are technical in a cutting edge field, and so her work was particularly challenging. Cassie delivered great content across blogs, social media, and technical presentations.

Matthew Bencke, Founder and CEO of Mighty AI

Cassie is one of the best content strategists, marketers and writers I’ve had the pleasure of working with in my career. She is creative, curious, strategic, takes initiative, and writes compelling copy that resonates with whichever audience she’s targeting, be that deeply technical engineers and data scientists or the average consumer. She has a superb “no BS or marketing fluff” filter and is an expert at crafting stories that drive audiences to action. I certainly hope I get to work with her again!

Angela Cherry, Communications, Marketing & CSR Leader

Cassie is the content writer that every company wants on its team. She is valuable because she’s not only a fantastic writer, but she’s also a skilled marketer who understands what inbound marketing is all about. Cassie has the ability to relate with an audience at their level and really cares to provide content that’s helpful. I will always have a seat open for Cassie on my team!

Mike Kang, Market Segment Manager

Cassie’s writing is nothing short of a breath of fresh air. She brings the “REAL;” down-to-earth, easily understood, easily palatable pieces that resonate long after you’ve clicked off the page. Her ability to take complex or dry subjects and turn them into intellectual candy isn’t only commendable, but it’s in-demand in the online marketing world.

Maxine Harrison, Director of Marketing Content

What Do You Charge?

Since content marketing works best when it’s a regular thing, I work on a retainer basis with my clients. Together, we create custom monthly content packages based on your goals. Here are the per-piece prices on which I base total package cost. (These prices are estimates—every project is unique, as they say):

  • ramp-up session: $300 (OK this isn’t a deliverable for you, but it’s something I do with all new clients: a block of ramp-up time. This is where I set aside some hours to review your materials and website and get up to speed on your messaging and market position. Basically I “onboard” myself. This helps me write all pieces for you from your company’s perspective, emphasizing the points you want to make and painting the picture you want to paint.)
  • blog: $500 (includes keyword optimization, meta description, and stock image selection)
  • byline/contributed article: $500
  • ebook/guide/whitepaper: $1100 for 5 full pages of copy, $55 per additional page
  • email copy: $150
  • newsletter copy: $150 – 300, depending on length
  • website copy: $300 per page
  • landing page/sales page copy: $150 – $500, depending on length/complexity
  • case studies, ad copy, other stuff: varies. Let’s talk.

A note on edits: It’s pretty rare for my clients to find they want significant changes on my first draft, so I’m happy to do a quick round of revisions on most things for free. If we decide we want to really change things up, though, we’ll talk about the cost for those edits then.
